Anni-Frid Lyngstad, also known as Frida, is a Norwegian-born Swedish singer and songwriter. She gained fame as a founding member and lead singer of the pop band ABBA. Lyngstad started her career in music as a jazz singer, winning a talent competition in 1967 with her song En ledig dag. She was then signed by Stig Anderson's record label, Polar Music, and later joined ABBA, which became one of the best-selling music acts in history. After the break-up of ABBA, Lyngstad continued her solo career with moderate success, releasing two international albums, Something's Going On and Shine.
