Anand Bakshi
Anand Bakshi was an Indian poet and lyricist, born on July 21, 1930, in Rawalpindi, British India, into a Mohyal Brahmin family of the Vaid clan. He wrote his first song in a Brij Mohan film titled Bhalaa Aadmi (1958) and gained popularity with Mehendi Lagi Mere Haath in 1962. Bakshi was known for his association with music composers like Laxmikant–Pyarelal, R D Burman, Kalyanji Anandji, and many others. He was the preferred lyricist by Rajesh Khanna for films with Rajesh Khanna in the lead. Bakshi worked as a lyricist for over 4000 songs and 638 films in his career. He sang songs in five films, including Sholay and Balika Badhu. Bakshi passed away on March 30, 2002.
