Janis Joplin

Few voices in late-1960s rock carried as much raw force as Janis Joplin’s. A singer from the USA, she drew on blues, soul, and psychedelic rock with Big Brother and the Holding Company and in her solo work. Songs such as Piece of My Heart, Cry Baby, Summertime, and Me and Bobby McGee made her one of the era’s defining vocal figures.
