Hector Console

Héctor Console gave the double bass a flexible role inside modern Argentine tango. From Argentina, he became closely associated with Astor Piazzolla, where bass lines could support rhythm, counterpoint, and chamber-like tension. His playing belongs to the tango tradition after the orquesta típica, when small ensembles carried sharper harmony and more concentrated drama.
