Silvius Weiss

Silvius Leopold Weiss brought the lute to one of its last great high points. The German Baroque composer and performer wrote suites, dances, preludes, and large solo works whose idiom combines intimacy with formal command. His tag connects the lute, court culture, and a repertory that later guitarists and early-music performers returned to with renewed attention.
