Sursingar

The sursingar is a rare plucked string instrument of North Indian music, closely related to the older world around the sarod and dhrupad. Its deep tone and long sustain suited slow raga development before the sarod became the more visible concert instrument. The tag connects India, raga, sarod, and the older instrumental lineages of Hindustani music.
