SAROD

The sarod is a fretless plucked string instrument used in Hindustani classical music. Its metal fingerboard allows smooth slides between notes, an essential part of raga expression. The instrument is closely associated with the Maihar Gharana, Allauddin Khan, Ali Akbar Khan, and later virtuosos such as Amjad Ali Khan.
