Can was a German experimental rock band formed in Cologne in 1968 by Holger Czukay, Irmin Schmidt, Michael Karoli, and Jaki Liebezeit. The group is hailed as pioneers of the German krautrock scene. They blended elements of avant-garde, jazz, psychedelic rock, and funk to create influential albums such as Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, and Future Days. Can had commercial success with singles such as Spoon and I Want More which reached national singles charts. The band used several vocalists, most prominently Malcolm Mooney and Damo Suzuki. Cand disbanded in 1999.
