Childe Hassam

Childe Hassam—an American Impressionist painter—was influential in introducing Impressionism to American art collectors, dealers, and museums. He produced over 3,000 paintings in various mediums and was known for his urban and coastal scenes. Notable works include Geraniums, for which he received a Bronze Medal in the Exposition Universale in Paris in 1889, and his urban landscapes such as Washington Arch.
