Collin Walcott

Collin Walcott was a multi-instrumentalist from the USA whose work connected jazz, Indian classical music, and chamber-like improvisation. He studied sitar with Ravi Shankar and became known through the group Oregon and the ECM sound world. His playing brought tabla, sitar, dulcimer, and percussion into a quiet but exploratory form of ensemble music.
