KRONOS QUARTET

Kronos Quartet changed the public idea of what a string quartet could contain. The USA ensemble built a repertory across contemporary composition, minimalism, world traditions, film music, rock arrangements, and political memory. Its work with composers and musicians across cultures made the quartet a central institution of late 20th-century classical and 21st-century classical performance.
