Harmonium

The harmonium is a free-reed keyboard instrument whose sound is produced by air passing through metal reeds. In Europe it belonged to domestic music, churches, classrooms, and small-scale devotional use, while in India it became important in vocal accompaniment, bhajan, ghazal, and raga-based performance. Its portability and sustained tone made it a practical cousin of the organ.
