Anna Meredith is a Scottish composer and performer of electronic and acoustic music. Born in Tufnell Park, North London in 1978, she gained first-class honors in Music from the University of York and later a master's degree from the Royal College of Music. Meredith first gained public attention with her work for the 2008 BBC Last Night of the Proms, which was broadcast to 40 million people. In 2016, she released her debut studio album, Varmints, which won the 2016 Scottish Album of the Year Award.
