The Berliner Barock Solisten is a chamber music ensemble founded in 1995 by Rainer Kussmaul, Raimar Orlovsky, and other leading musicians in the early music scene. Their goal was to perform music from the 17th and 18th centuries with modern instruments at the highest artistic level while approaching historical performance practices. The ensemble's size and instrumentation vary depending on the work being performed. Since its founding, the Berliner Barock Solisten has released numerous CD recordings and received several awards, including a Grammy Award in 2005.
