Bryan James "Chas" Chandler was an English musician, record producer, and manager. He was the original bassist in The Animals and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Chandler also managed the band Slade and Jimi Hendrix. He discovered Hendrix in New York City and brought him to Britain forming the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Chandler played a crucial role in Hendrix's success and introduced him to Eric Clapton. He was known for his hands-on approach in producing Hendrix's early albums and his idea for the iconic guitar-burning performance. Chandler later managed and produced Slade, achieving six number-one hits in the UK. He expanded his interests in the music industry, owning recording studios and record labels.
