Andrew Manze is a British conductor and violinist known for his expertise in Baroque violin music. He studied Classics at Clare College, Cambridge, and violin with Simon Standage and Ton Koopman. Manze started his career as a specialist in Early Music and has recorded solo albums for labels like Harmonia Mundi. He was the associate director of The Academy of Ancient Music and artistic director of The English Concert, recording commercially for Harmonia Mundi. Manze has conducted recordings for labels such as Onyx and Pentatone. He has been a fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and a visiting professor at the Oslo Academy. Manze has contributed to new editions of sonatas and concertos by Mozart and Bach published by Bärenreiter and Breitkopf and Härtel.
