Bob Welch was an American musician known for his brief solo success in the late 1970s and his time as a member of Fleetwood Mac. Born in Los Angeles in 1945, Welch grew up in Beverly Hills and learned to play the guitar in his adolescence, with an interest in jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock. He played guitar for The Seven Souls and then joined Fleetwood Mac in 1971, contributing to their albums Future Games, Bare Trees, and Mystery to Me. Welch's solo hits included Hot Love, Cold World, Ebony Eyes, and Precious Love. He died in 2012 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
