Chick Corea—an American jazz composer and pianist—was active from the 1960s until his death in 2021. Known for his contributions to jazz fusion, post-bop, and Latin jazz, Corea was a prominent figure in the jazz scene. Some of his notable pieces include Spain, 500 Miles High, and La Fiesta. Corea was a member of Miles Davis's band in the late 1960s and formed the group Return to Forever in the 1970s. Throughout his career, he won 27 Grammy Awards and was considered one of the foremost jazz pianists of his time.
