Billy Conway

Billy Conway was an American drummer from Owatonna, Minnesota, best known for his work with Treat Her Right and Morphine. His bands and playing style were characterized by a stripped-down approach, and he was noted for playing the cocktail drum. Conway played in Morphine for much of its existence and later formed Orchestra Morphine and Twinemen with saxophonist Dana Colley. In recent years, he toured with Jeffrey Foucault as a duo, playing only what they could carry into a club alone. Conway worked with a circle of artists, including Caitlin Canty and Chris Smither, and served as a producer and engineer.
