Carl Frederick Kendall Palmer, born on March 20, 1950, in Handsworth, Birmingham, England, is an English drummer known for his work in the progressive rock genre. He was a founding member of the supergroups Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Asia. Notable achievements include induction into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1989 and receiving the Prog God Award at the 2017 Progressive Music Awards. Some of his notable pieces include ELP's Fanfare for the Common Man and Asia's Heat of the Moment.
