Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck

Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck stands between the late Renaissance and early Baroque keyboard worlds. Working in the Netherlands, he became famous as an organ player, teacher, and composer of fantasias, variations, psalm settings, and vocal music. His influence on North German keyboard writing helped prepare the ground for later organ traditions leading toward Bach.
