Juanes brought Colombian rock into a bright, radio-ready Latin mainstream. The singer and guitarist from Colombia joined rock rhythm, pop structure, folk color, and socially conscious lyric writing. A Dios le pido, La camisa negra, Me enamora, and Fíjate bien made him one of the key Spanish-language artists of the 2000s.
