Louis Vierne

Louis Vierne stands at the centre of the French symphonic organ tradition. The composer and organist from France worked at Notre-Dame de Paris and wrote music whose large forms, colour, and harmonic pressure turned the organ into an orchestral world. His organ symphonies and smaller pieces carry late Romantic language into 20th-century sacred and concert repertory.
