Ferdinando Carulli was an Italian guitarist and composer of the late Classical and early Romantic periods. His method books, études, sonatas, duos, and concert works helped establish modern classical guitar pedagogy. Carulli’s clear textures and practical writing made him one of the key teachers of the early 19th-century guitar.
