Jaco Pastorius

Jaco Pastorius was a bassist from the USA whose fretless electric bass playing changed the sound of jazz fusion. His work with Weather Report, Joni Mitchell, and his own groups combined singing harmonics, fast melodic lines, and deep rhythmic control. Recordings such as Donna Lee, Portrait of Tracy, and Teen Town made him one of the most influential bass guitarists of the 20th century.
