JOSEPH TAWADROS

Joseph Tawadros has made the oud a modern concert instrument of unusual range. Born in Egypt and based in Australia, he moves through Arabic tradition, improvisation, chamber music, jazz contact, and world music. His recordings treat the oud not only as an inherited voice, but as a flexible instrument for new composition and cross-cultural dialogue.
