VAUGHAN WILLIAMS

Ralph Vaughan Williams was an English composer of the 20th Century Classical period whose music drew on folk song, hymnody, Tudor polyphony, and modern orchestral color. His major works include Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, The Lark Ascending, Job, and nine symphonies. Vaughan Williams became one of the defining voices of British music in the 20th century.
