Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) was a renowned English progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1970. The band members included Keith Emerson (keyboards) from the Nice, Greg Lake (vocals, bass, guitar) from King Crimson, and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion) from Atomic Rooster. Known for their adaptation of classical music with jazz and symphonic rock elements, ELP achieved commercial success in the 1970s with albums like Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Tarkus, Trilogy, and Brain Salad Surgery. They disbanded in 1979 but reformed at various times, releasing albums like Black Moon and In the Hot Seat.
