Guitar Amplifier

The guitar amplifier changed the electric guitar from a louder instrument into a new musical voice. Amplification made distortion, feedback, sustain, reverb, and speaker color part of performance. In blues, jazz, country, and especially rock, the amplifier became as important to style as the guitar itself.
