I Musici became one of the best-known chamber ensembles associated with Italian Baroque repertory. Founded in Italy, the group helped bring concertos by Vivaldi, Corelli, Albinoni, and other early 18th-century composers to a wide recording public. Its polished string sound made Baroque music part of postwar domestic listening as well as concert life.
