Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra

The Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra is a Czech symphonic ensemble connected with Ostrava and the wider Central European orchestral tradition. Based in the Czech Republic, the orchestra performs Czech music, standard symphonic repertory, and modern works. Its name points to Leoš Janáček, whose music links speech rhythm, folk memory, and the modernist edge of 20th-century classical music.
