Pedro Infante was a Mexican singer and actor whose film performances helped define the golden age of Mexican cinema. His screen performance of Tomás Méndez's Cucurrucucú Paloma in Escuela de vagabundos became one of the classic routes by which the song entered Latin American public memory.
