Tomás Méndez was a Mexican songwriter best known for Cucurrucucú Paloma, one of the most widely performed songs in the Mexican popular repertory. The song entered cinema memory through Pedro Infante and later reached new film audiences through Caetano Veloso's performance in Pedro Almodóvar's Talk to Her.
