SYNTHESIZER

A synthesizer is an electronic instrument that generates and shapes sound through oscillators, filters, envelopes, samples, or digital processes. It became especially important in experimental music, film scores, progressive rock, pop, and electronic genres from the mid-20th century onward. The instrument allowed musicians to create tones that did not imitate older instruments, changing both studio production and live performance.
