Benny Goodman was a popular clarinet player in the late 1930s, leading a quartet that included Lionel Hampton, Teddy Wilson, and Gene Krupa, creating one of the first racially integrated jazz bands. Goodman's band achieved many accomplishments, including being the first jazz band to perform at Carnegie Hall.
